Before You Apply
Congratulations on your desire to enter the work@home job market. By far, this is the fastest growing job market in the world. We wish you the best in finding work that matches your skills and needs.
If you have worked in a work@home job before, you know that this is not the typical 'go to the office' work experience. If this is your first time, you need to know a few things:
First, know that the ratio of 'scammy' to 'real' work@home jobs is estimated to be at least 60:1. While our site tries to filter out the scams, you have to be vigilant and self-protective. Take simple precautions such as:
- ** Don't send money to the employer or agree to purchase anything unless there is a job offer present
- ** Don't give out sensitive information if you feel uncomfortable about the company
- ** Do research the job online. Check to see if there are any complaints and figure out whether the complaints are valid
- ** Do not expect that you will be contacted personally by the company unless they have interest in you. They receive hundreds of applications for each available position
Keep in mind that work@home jobs can come in many different ways:
- ** Contractor (1099)
- ** Freelancer
- ** Part-time or full-time employee
- ** Business opportunity
Again, we work to screen out the bad guys and keep a list of real jobs for you. However, you are ultimately responsible for your efforts to apply for a job or contact an employer.
Please don't let any of this information discourage you. Millions of people are working from home, either as an extension of their employer or they have jumped out of corporate America to set their own hours and make their own mark. These people tend to be very satisfied with their choice.
We offer this information in an effort to help you join the work@home workforce with your eyes wide open. We wish you the best of luck!
Sincerely,
The RemoteJobFinder Team
